Maison Bélanger

Montreal, Quebec

When graphic design no longer fulfilled Jessika's ambitions, she turned to industrial design, then ceramics. She christened her studio in honour of her grandmother, an epicurean who loved art, good food, beautiful objects and their functionality, and understood the great value of craftsmanship. Maison Bélanger's ceramic creations are an elegant invitation to better consume from an environmentally conscious perspective. She creates some of her pieces in the traditional way, while shaping others with a calibrator built in Quebec in the '70s, but every one of them aims to foster good habits by making it easier to preserve food and enhance dish presentation. Jessika reuses most materials in her workshop, even though they are all fully compostable or recyclable.
